Please keep repeating yourself. And when you think you have repeated yourself enough, repeat yourself some more. Yours is one of the few substacks that I genuinely enjoy reading at once. I know, I'm not a paid subscriber. I should probably become one. Soon. I think I will. "There is joy in repetition." So maybe I'll say this again in a few other future comments, before acting.

i admire your mind, to be able to put out words like you just did i don’t think it truly matters if you ever finish writing your book. as long as you exist you’ll continue to be an inspiration to people like me, and if one day you stop writing out of choice it truly doesn’t matter, it’s your journey anyways. all the best, i absolutely adore your writing!

This is so good, it's funny and precise. Some of your words will definitely stick in my head and it is quite likely I'll end up paraphrasing them somewhere... I recently attended some lectures about poetry and the professor (who is a poet) spoke a lot about the cruciality of repetition in writing, and not only repeating yourself, but repeating what others have said, in a way it feels like you're saying something new. Maybe repetition is a positive coherence. Thanks for sharing :)

what gentle prose. your writing is sowing seeds, nurturing them to maturity, harvesting, burning the crops to the ground, forgetting about what was planted, and preparing the ground to start again. keep writing!

Brilliant, hilarious, start-to-finish relatable. I also wrestle with perpetual writer's block and a fear of repeating myself. And that is also how my tomorrow will go. And I don't know what my current novel is about... Let's keep writing and hope something is revealed. Can't wait to read yours one day <3
