The Land Is Inhospitable, and So Are We / It’s just witness-less me
There’s someplace in my mind—though I can’t quite picture it because I haven’t been. A clapboard house. Tumbleweeds. Dust covers cracked china teacups filled with whiskey. A woman trawls around in a corseted dress and waders. I don’t know where this place is or who she is. When I listen to the new Mitski, this vision is conjured.
